A new NIHR Challenge Maternity Disparities Consortium has been launched to tackle inequalities in maternity care.

  • Sheffield Hallam is leading a partnership with the City of Doncaster Council, and Bournemouth University.
  • The project will incorporate emerging technologies, such as intelligent digital solutions
  • The partnership builds on strong community engagement and inclusive research.

The NIHR praised the establishment of MIHERC for its multi-ethnic and interdisciplinary partnerships with communities and the third sector. They also commended the centre’s clear plans for capacity building and community engagement, particularly in digitalisation and data connectivity.
